Cultivating her Fruits

The fruit of the Spirit is a spiritual gift from God that helps people who have repented of their sins and believe in Jesus as their savior to act more like Jesus. The fruit of the Spirit is a set of nine characteristics that are displayed in a Christian's life through the work of the Holy Spirit. Our "Cultivating Her Fruits" program will teach girls the importance of growing their spiritual fruits, even in times of drought.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Love

God is love. The apostle John describes this: “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love” (1 John 4:7-8).

Joy

Selfish happiness vs. godly joy

Joy is the realization that God loves us and wants to give good things to His children—those who have repented, been baptized and have received His Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38). One of those good things is the Kingdom of God, when Jesus Christ will rule a peaceful and prosperous world: “Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations on earth” (Psalm 67:4).

Peace

Without understanding what His peace looks like, can we truly know if we are experiencing it? Philippians 4:6-7 clarifies that some aspects of God’s peace are beyond our comprehension. In this passage, we read, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Longsuffering

What is longsuffering? It is a divine patience and mercy that we are called to show to others, reflecting as closely as possible the patience and mercy that God shows to us. It involves bearing with others, tolerating their mistakes and inconsiderate actions, and genuinely forgiving them for any real or perceived wrongs. Longsuffering also means enduring trials and waiting patiently and faithfully for God's intervention.
